Mrs. Jagruti Joshi is an experienced special educator, teacher educator and disability-rehabilitation professional, specialising in the education and rehabilitation of children and persons with Hearing Impairment. Her professional career spans nearly three decades — beginning as a classroom teacher in 1998 and progressing through direct special-education teaching, teacher training and academic research.
Since 2004 she has served as Course Coordinator at the Training College for the Teachers of the Deaf — part of the School for Deaf-Mutes Society, Ahmedabad (established 1962) — where she delivers lectures and supervises practical training for the Diploma in Special Education (Hearing Impairment). She has also contributed to an Expert Committee developing special-education training programmes for persons with hearing impairment and intellectual disabilities at diploma and degree level.
Her work brings together three connected strengths — direct education of children with hearing impairment, the preparation of the special educators who teach them, and academic contribution to disability and inclusive education — making her a valued voice on speech, communication and special-education practice for Kocoon Junior.
