Yes. Every new family starts with a free 30-minute consultation at any of our 3 centers — South Bopal, Shela, or Sanand. No referral is needed and there is no commitment required. You describe your concerns, our specialist briefly observes your child, and we recommend the appropriate program — or confirm no intervention is yet needed.
Kocoon Junior serves children aged 2–10 years across most programs. Some programs such as Special Education and Hyperactive Child extend to age 14. Early intervention between ages 2–5 typically produces the fastest results.
Most parents are not sure which program applies — and that is completely normal. Our free 30-minute consultation is designed precisely for this. You describe your concerns, our specialist observes your child briefly, and we recommend the most appropriate program. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing the diagnosis.
Bring any existing medical reports, developmental assessments, school reports, or paediatrician notes you have about your child. If your child has a diagnosis, bring those documents. If you have no documents, that is fine — the consultation proceeds based on your observations and our specialist's direct assessment of your child.
Yes — many families come to Kocoon Junior with an existing diagnosis from a paediatrician or developmental specialist. Bring any existing reports to your first appointment. Our team will review the diagnosis, conduct their own functional assessment, and design a therapy plan aligned with the child's current needs.
You can book through our Book Appointment page, by calling +91 76001 81034 (South Bopal) or +91 76001 81034 (Shela) or +91 76002 64445 (Sanand), or by sending a WhatsApp message. The first consultation is always free.
Speech Delay & Autism
No. If your child is 2 years old and not yet saying 50+ words or not combining 2 words together, an assessment is strongly recommended. The 2–4 year window is the most critical period for speech and language development. Waiting rarely helps and often costs valuable intervention time. Book a free consultation and our speech therapist will assess whether intervention is needed.
Speech delay refers to a child who is not developing speech and language at the expected age milestones — fewer words, limited sentences, or difficulty being understood. Stammering (also called stuttering) is a fluency disorder where speech is disrupted by repetitions, prolongations, or blocks. Both are addressed at Kocoon Junior but through different treatment approaches.
Children with autism typically benefit from a combination of programs: Autism Support (ASD), ABA Therapy for behaviour and communication, Speech Therapy for language delays, Occupational Therapy for sensory and motor challenges, and Special Education for academic support. Our team will assess your child and recommend the appropriate combination.
Yes — many children with autism also have significant speech and language delays. Our multi-disciplinary team coordinates speech therapy and ASD-specific programs together so the two interventions reinforce each other. Combined speech and autism support is one of the most common enrollment patterns at Kocoon Junior.
School speech support (where available) is typically group-based, infrequent, and curriculum-focused. At Kocoon Junior, speech therapy is one-to-one, 60 minutes per session, conducted by a specialist using structured evidence-based techniques tailored to each child's specific diagnosis and goals.
Therapy Programs
ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) therapy is an evidence-based approach that uses structured reinforcement to teach communication, social, self-care, and academic skills. It is most commonly used for children with autism but also benefits children with ADHD and developmental challenges. A free consultation with our ABA specialist will determine whether ABA is appropriate for your child.
Paediatric occupational therapy (OT) helps children develop the skills needed for everyday activities — including self-care, play, fine motor tasks, and school activities. At Kocoon Junior, OT specifically addresses sensory processing difficulties, motor coordination, sensory integration, and functional independence in children aged 2–10.
Sensory processing difficulties occur when the brain has difficulty receiving and responding to sensory information — resulting in over- or undersensitivity to touch, sound, light, movement, or taste. At Kocoon Junior, sensory challenges are addressed within Occupational Therapy and our Sensation Therapy program using sensory integration techniques.
The first step is a proper developmental assessment — not a school checklist. At Kocoon Junior, our specialists assess attention, impulse control, hyperactivity, and related developmental factors. Based on this, we recommend the appropriate program: Hyperactive Child, Attention Disorder, ABA Therapy, or a combination. Book a free consultation as the starting point.
The Delayed Development program addresses global developmental delay — where a child is significantly behind age-expected milestones across multiple areas (speech, motor, cognitive, social). The program combines early stimulation, structured developmental activities, and parent coaching to accelerate progress. Early intervention is especially effective for delayed development.
Early intervention refers to therapeutic programs delivered during the critical developmental window of ages 0–6, when the brain has the greatest neuroplasticity. Research consistently shows that children who receive appropriate intervention during this window have significantly better long-term outcomes than those who start later. At Kocoon Junior, early intervention programs start from age 2.
Yes. Children with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities benefit from multiple programs at Kocoon Junior — particularly Special Education, ABA Therapy, and Daily Learning Activities. Our programs are structured to meet each child at their current developmental level regardless of diagnosis label.
Yes. After assessment, Kocoon Junior can provide a written developmental assessment report covering the child's current developmental level, identified challenges, recommended school accommodations, and the intervention program being undertaken. Speak with our team at your first visit.
Sessions & Progress
Most families notice improvement within 4–8 weeks of consistent therapy. Progress depends on the nature and severity of the child's challenge, session frequency, and the level of home practice reinforcement by parents. Children who practice skills at home between sessions consistently progress faster.
For most programs, 2–3 sessions per week produces the best outcomes. For children with autism or significant developmental delays, higher frequency (3–5 per week) is often recommended initially. Our specialists will recommend the appropriate frequency after the initial assessment.
Yes — parents are present in every session at Kocoon Junior. This is not optional — it is fundamental to our approach. Therapy that stays inside the clinic walls is only half as effective. When parents understand the technique and practice it at home, children progress significantly faster and skills generalise to real life.
Progress is reviewed formally every 4–8 weeks. Parents receive a verbal update after every session and a written summary at review intervals. Goals are set in measurable terms so progress is objective. If goals are not being met, the plan is adjusted — no child continues on an unchanged plan indefinitely.
Therapist resistance is very common in young children, especially in the first few sessions. Our therapists use play-based, motivating activities that make sessions feel enjoyable rather than clinical. Most children who initially resist become engaged within 3–6 sessions as trust is built with the therapist.
All Kocoon Junior therapists speak Gujarati, Hindi, and English. Sessions can be conducted in whichever language is most comfortable for the parent and child. No language barriers between you and your child's care team.
